  • Rare! Old masterpiece Super3000LA linear amplifier manufactured by Frontier Electric
  • Description of item This is a Frontier Electric HF linear amplifier that was all the rage in the 1960s and 1970s. It is truly an antique from my father's generation. This is the amplifier used in the Super600GT series.
  • This product is a Super3000LA linear amplifier manufactured in 1969.

  • It had been hibernating in the attic for a long time, but I decided to dispose of it in order to organize my equipment.
  • However, although it is a very old machine, there are only a few circuit parts and the degree of deterioration is low, so after replacing deteriorated diodes and cleaning the relays, we use the actual machine to check its operation.
  • The final stage is 5 paras of 6KD6. I was using it with a 300W license with a deep bias, so I think it can still be used.
  • We input a transceiver output of about 20W at 7MHz, match it with a dummy, and confirmed an output of about 450W (CW).
  • The instruction manual states that the rating is 2kW (PEP) with a drive power of 30W to 100W, but it is stable at around 4 to 500W. The ball seems fine.
  • This machine can easily produce high output. Please be sure to use it with an official license.

  • There is a linear model called 3500LA on sale in the series, but it has the same rating as the 3000LA. (The only thing that has changed is the parts of the high-voltage power supply.)

  • Although it is a museum-grade HF linear amplifier, I think it can still be used. If you are interested or would like to use it, what do you think?

  • Of course, since it is an old item, it is being listed as junk. I remember that it was shelved around 1990, but it was still working without any problems at that time.

  • The item for sale is the main unit and a copy of the instruction manual. The circuit diagram is included in the instruction manual.
  • Naturally, since it is an old item, there are many things such as rust, scratches, and peeling paint. However, I don't think there is anything fatal. I remember that the case of the main body was painted at a paint shop before it went into storage.
  • Please note that there is a slight dent on the back chassis, although it does not affect functionality.
