Eldon Carey retired near Benson, Arizona and continued to be a serious rockhound in his later years. He sold lapidary rough in Southern Arizona, and I believe that to be the reason we occasionally find some Carey agate locally.
A small amount of the Carey agate we obtained in an old collection yielded some beautiful cabs. This square cushion is a beauty with the bright color and plumes this material is known for. We like this shape to set in a 'diamond' position, as seen in the photos.
