This is an original watercolor by the Scottish military artist Orlando Norie (1832-1901). It is of two officers from the 42nd Highlanders.
Norie signed the lower right corner. Below, on the left, it says 'Printed by O. Norie'; on the right, it says 'Engraved by [what looks like] P'all Grainger'.
It was originally framed to be about 1/4" smaller, or to be in a book, and there is an imprint along the bottom edge of its original treatment. Other than that, it's in perfect condition.
It is matted and framed, in wood.
The piece is 6 3/4" x 9 3/4", framed to 9 1/8" x 12 3/8"
Note: Canada Post and USPS no longer insure for broken glass. This will be properly packaged but I can't guarantee that the glass will arrive intact.
