LONGABERGER BASKET 2005 HORIZON OF HOPE AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY NEW SIGNED.  This auction is for a Longaberger basket (BSKT-2005 HOH-WW 10295) that was created in 2005 in collaboration with the American Cancer Society to promote monthly breast self-exams and an annual mammogram.  The Horizon of Hope basket is new in the original plastic wrap with a hard plastic liner, the soft liner fabric, tie-on medallion accessory, informational card on the founding of the company and how to take care of the baskets.  Also included are calendar stickers for women to remind themselves to do a self-exam each month.   The basket is a light whitewashed color with pink trim and ‘ribbons’ on the end (symbol of breast cancer) measures a little under 7” long x 3 ½” high x 4” deep and weighs a little over 3 ounces without accessories.  It bears the Maker’s Mark of Longaberger, the American Cancer Society and is signed/dated ‘MS 2005’ on the bottom.  The basket making tradition of the Longabergers dates back to the turn of the century when the family weaved baskets in Dresden.  David Longaberger revitalized the handcrafting tradition in American when he founded the Longaberger Company in 1973.  The basket was unwrapped for photography; all items are in excellent, new condition.  (SEE IMAGES).  Shipping is $6 within the U.S. only.  The winning bidder agrees to send payment within 5 days of auction.  Any questions, E-mail me.  Thank you.
