Description: Complete set of colour illustrated cigarette cards featuring different hawkers, street sellers, and door to door peddlers from historical London. The reverse of each card provides textual information on each of the twenty-five different images. Note: This is the FIRST of two standard-sized "Cries of London" series issued by John Player and Sons.

Condition: Cards are in Very Good to Good condition. Backs of cards are clear and legible. None of the cards has any defacement, tears,creasing, or fraying. Cards rated as good due to signs of handling to some of the cards. (See rating guide below).

 Other: A nice set of 111 year old cards. Cards come loose and comprise the full set of 25 cards.

Ratings Guide:

Poor: Torn or excessively creased cards, damage to front or back of card. Very dirty or grimy. Very frayed edges.                                                                   

Fair: Signs of considerable handling, quite dirty, slight damage to cards or card edges.

Good: Some  slight signs of age or wear. Corners with some rounding. Some discolouration (through aging, not stains). No tears or creasing.

Very Good: Clean cards, reasonably sharp corners. No damage to cards, no fraying of edges, a bit of aging, no grime or excessive handling marks

Excellent: Cards are looking as new. Cards have been handled but no visible marking, edge wearing, or corner rounding is evident.
