This listing features a vintage wooden Sound Warehouse Record Crate Kit from the late 1970s to early 1980s. This crate is un-assembled and unused and STILL SEALED in the original factory box! Extremely difficult to find these unused and unopened crate kits!
In the 1970's and 1980's, Sound Warehouse grew to be one of the largest and most popular record store chains in the world. Sound Warehouse sold record crate kits such as this one to customers. Many of the assembled Sound Warehouse record crates have survived and they are still very popular with collectors. But the un-assembled crate kits are EXTREMELY rare and rarely ever come up for sale!
Considering the condition and rarity, this record crate kit is definitely a collector's item which would make a great addition to any serious collection! Obviously, you could assemble this crate using the slats and nails which are included in the kit. You can customize the crate any way you want. As the back of the box explains, all you'll need is a hammer!
This kit is for a FULL SIZE CRATE! It will hold over 100 full size record LPs. The crate is at least 40 years old, so there's bound to be a couple of minor issues with the outer cardboard box. But aside from some minor damage to the outer box (see pics), there's nothing wrong with the crate itself! In fact, the factory box is STILL SEALED!!! You'd be hard pressed to find another example in similar condition!
