This laptop receives power, powers on, and has a clean install of macOS 12.0, Monterey.
The screen displays an image, but it is not a "live" image of an active display and is more of a "screenshot" of what the display looked like at a random interval. Closing the screen and opening it again will "refresh" the display, but sometimes the display will just be completely blank despite the system being on. We are not sure what exactly is the cause of this issue, but assume it is something to do with the display being faulty or the display connector or some other underlying issue.
For example, in the pictures we took of the system you can see the display showing the home screen, however when attempting to move the mouse and click on any of the icons, nothing appears to happen. If we close the laptop lid and open it again the screen will update. The Touch Bar still responds to inputs, but the screen does not reflect changes unless you close and open the display, but even this is not a consistent fix as sometimes it takes multiple opening and closing of the display to get it to "update" to the current state of the system.
In short, there is something very much wrong with this system and we are unable to fully diagnose or fix the system.
