The Vintage TEAC X-2000 (1984) is an audiophile 3 heads / 3 motors reel to reel machine. X-2000 has been considered as a high-end and top-quality machine built to the highest standards under strict TEAC factory quality control. It is a directional only (no reverse) open-reel recorder designed to use both conventional tapes and the EE (“Extra Efficiency”) type on reel sizes up to 10-1/2 inches.
The listing is for tape deck unit only. NO reel, No tape, No hub, No remote, No RCA cables or other accessories included.
X-2000 features an advanced dbx type I noise-reduction system gives it a dynamic range nearly equivalent to that of a digital recorder today.
This unit is in very good cosmetic and working condition. Show signs of previous usage such as hairline scratches, small dings, rust, dis-colored spots, worn-out letters, corners and edges... The machine was removed from a working environment
(home recording studio) in Los Angeles area.
All tape play and record from line in and microphone are tested. All belts, tire, tension wheels, brake pressure and tape transport mechanism are fully serviced and tested.
Sound outputs are strong and clear from both headphone and line-out.
Play head and metal parts on the tape track are demagnetized and cleaned. The deck also tested for tape tracking and reading.
The internal electronics circuit is in good original condition. No sign of previous repair or modification.
No return if due to buyer mishandling or damage because of lack of proper operational knowledge - and above all we are watching out for the part swappers if anti-tamper stickers on the unit removed or broke off. Serial number is recorded.
