Limoges Coiffe Klingenberg Classical Lady & Cherub Heavy Gold 8 3/4 Inch Plate

Very pretty porcelain luncheon sized cabinet plate. Nicely decorated with a classical / allegorical scene of a lady lying on the ground surrounded by flowers, while a cherub above her ties her up and tickles her with a tree branch. There is a thin band of blue around the scene. Heavy gold gilt border. Marked on the reverse with a green star over France with Limoges inside the star. This is an underglaze whiteware mark used by Coiffe in Limoges France between 1891 and 1914. Also marked on the bottom with AK over CD in a double circle in red. This is an overglaze decorating mark used by Klingenberg & Dwenger in Limoges France between 1900 and 1910.

Has some minor wear to the gilding and a few small spots of wear to the thin blue band around the scene, but otherwise good condition with no chips or cracks.

Measures approximately 8 3/4 inches wide.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
