Prime focus photography uses an SLR body, and no telescope eyepiece used.

Because there is no glass between the camera sensor and Telescope objective, you get maximum light 

transmission, and is the preferred method of imaging for many astronomers.

Note that with Nikon and Sony Alpha DSLR cameras you will only be able to use manual exposure
