Display/Button Illumination: The display is yellow. The D-Bass is backlit with yellow illumination, and the rest of the buttons are backlit with green illumination. The illumination and clock can be set to turn on with the ignition, or you may operate the unit so the illumination and clock come on only when the unit is on.

D-Bass: A Sony exclusive. Instead of a standard loudness function, this unit has D-bass control. D-bass uses a sharper curve than conventional loudness features to give you more bass without interfering with mids and highs. Besides off, there are three levels of D-Bass (D-Bass 1, 2 and 3), each of which give you more bass.

Source tone memory: Each source (AM/FM/CD) can store its own bass and treble levels.

Beep Tone: The unit outputs a beep tone through the speaker outputs when a function is used. This can be turned on or off. Note that the beep is not output through the preamp outputs.

CD Compatibility: This unit will play prerecorded CDs and CD-Rs, but it will not play CD-RWs.
