Vintage 1950s space age rocket hood ornament.  11" long chrome curved base.  There are some pits under the chrome circle containing the rocket.  The hood ornament shines up and displays beautifully.  The rocket is gold, with a red plastic "flame" on the back.  I suspect the rocket may have been repainted at some point as its in excellent condition with no scratches.  Research did not give us a definitive answer as to the the application and the only identification is "HMI" and the number "28" on the base.  I've seen it identified as Oldsmobile but it likely a Gem product as it lacks an Olds part number.  Please see our images for more details.
