Welcome,

Todays offering is something of mystery…..

Of course we have seen one or two (thousand!) acoustic guitars through the shop yet not a single one of these.

If you have info please share......

Until then, we say that this appears to be a European, probably German-built, 12 string circa mid 60’s. Sharing some design similarities with early Framus 12 strings that we have owned/restored.

Regardless, she has a striking look in butterscotch blonde, spruce top and maple body and neck, it really does look nice!

The overall appearance is excellent for such a comparatively old guitar, so there is a good chance the entire instrument has been refinished, and if so this has been done to a high standard and certainly by a professional, there has been a few decades elapsed since, so the lacquer has some checking and vintage patina.

The type of finish is satin two-part Poly, yet would easily buff to a high gloss if desired.

The bridge appears to have been reset

We installed a bridge plate cap inside the guitar to preserve the integrity of the bridge, most vintage 12’s will have bridge issues without this work so this is something to consider even if you do not buy this one ;)

In other respects we supply the guitar with a full professional setup in fairness worth nearly the value of the guitar! Can’t win them all!

The action is set medium - 3mm @12th fret, and plays okay and better than many 12 strings half a century on.

There is some adjustment room on the saddle for the future or if the action needs to be lowered to suit your style.

Presently the guitar is set at the lowest optimum string height for tone/playability, of course being a vintage it has its limits.

A rare and unusual 12 stringer, if you don’t buy it quickly it goes on the wall - this thing is art!

Enjoy!
