This soap blend is handmade, and will be sent in the form of one solid rectangular block of soap. Soap may either be cut to desired shape or remelted and poured into a soap mold. If adding additional ingredients when melting, please do not add more than half an ounce (0.5 ounces per pound measured by weight not by liquid measurements) of additional ingredients (specifically oils) per pound of soap, otherwise it will ruin the consistency of the soap. This soap is made to be a very soft, hydrating bar with minimal lather. It is freshly made, so the longer that the soap sits to cure, the stronger the lather will become.

You may note a very slight, but extremely subtle, smell of vinegar while cutting the soap if you receive a batch that was made within the last 30 days. Simply allow the bar to lay out and by the next day the smell will dissipate. Feel free to add any fragrance you prefer to the soap. It heating the soap add additional ingredients or fragrance, it’s is VITAL that you cut the block into smaller cubes, no larger than 1.5 inches each, then melt as slowly as possible, never heating the soap over 125° Fahrenheit. If the soap’s temperature goes above 125° then the soap will change color and could develop a slight spoiled smell that will dissipate once the soap has been poured and had a day or two’s time to dry and cure again. It’s best to gently heat your soap in a container or pot that can be cooled quickly by being dipped into a larger pot with a bit of ice water in case the soap gets too hot too quickly. Sometimes it may be necessary to quickly blend a piece of an ice cube into your soap if it’s visibly burning and turning dark brown due to uneven or excessive heat.

Remember, do not add more than half a weighed ounce of liquid or oil ingredients per each pound to this soap base, as it is already loaded with beneficial oils and could easily become overloaded and turn to soggy for use. If this happens, gently remelting and adding baking soda or epsom salt to the soap can help to remove any excess moisture in case too much oil is added, but this will affect the ability of the soap to lather.

I do repour and remeasure the weight of the soap upon order receipt, but as the soap sits and cures it can sometimes lose its moisture and weight. If you receive a lighter block, this is why. The blocks range in total weight and are sold by volume and size more than they are by weight, although the weight of them is generally carried as much as a quarter pound, sometimes as much as a half pound. This is not something I can always control or have time to measure out, remelt, and wait to cure in order to ship in time so the blocks will come as is. I always try to send the larger ones out first and remake the smaller ones later if I get the time.
