A lovely West German Pottery vase by Carstens Tönnieshof, glazed in the lovely pastel tones of decor Rimini. This vase is from 1957.  It is covered with a matte white glaze, which is decorated with a striped, graphic pattern with lovely soft colours of pink, mint, lemon, taupe and dusky blue.  Fine dark brown lines run through the pattern. The inside of the vase is glazed in dark brown infused with mint. Just visible on the bottom of the vase are the identifier '526' and the Carstens double house mark. The vase still has the original silver foil sticker (Photo 2) which reads 'Carstens Tönnieshof Quality, West Germany'.

Carstens Tönnieshof (1945 - 1984) was the main factory owned by the Carstens family. West German Pottery made by Carstens is generally considered to be of high quality.

Please note that I use strong lighting to help highlight the maximum amount of detail of each piece. As each piece is bathed in such strong lighting conditions, the on-screen effect will possibly make the item appear lighter in colour and tone. Your piece may look slightly darker in more natural lighting conditions.
