A WW2 U.S Military chest in green with hinged lid and metal handles and chunky metal front clasp.

It has a hinged 3/4 opening lid with sturdy metal hinges a heavy weight front clasp and metal drop handles and each end.
Considering it's age and use it's in great condition. Someone has painted one end a little with a lighter green paint.
It's in need of a clean and would probably benefit from being waxed and polished.

I am assuming it's U.S Military as it has a name and number printed on the lid in a font that looks American Army to me.
I think it reads L.T. R.A. DONEL L.A  & the number is 49346

It's surprisingly light. As far as I can tell it was used to transport belongings to the UK for a soldier and was destined to be thrown away after ward and not taken back to the States.

This trunk came from a lady who saw military service in the second world war, another reason I think it's authentic. She used it as her sowing box so it's been indoors for most of it's life. After that it lived in the garage as a storage box.

Measures approx 31" wide by 17" deep (front/back) by 17" high
The lid aperture is approx 13" deep (front/back)

If you would like to come and have a look please just ask.
It will have to be collection only i am afraid.

Please see pictures for a better idea of condition as they make up part of the sale
