Well used but classic and sturdy bag from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. We’re downsizing and these need a new home.  This entry is for the small sized bag - approximately  9.5 inches tall (plus handles), 9 inches deep, and four inches wide.

This iconic black on black style with the words Metropolitan Museum of Art in glossier black first appeared in the late 1970’s. Over one million bags were printed every year, making it one of the most visible symbols of the largest repository of art in the Western hemisphere. Rudolph de Harak’s (American, 1924-2002) award-winning design for the bag was introduced at the opening of the new Art Publication Center, now referred to simply as “the bookshop,” off the Museum’s Great Hall. Imported nylon.
