An absolute gem. I think it is either a 1971 or 1972 extremely rare Gibson EB-4L bass in exceptional condition which is based on the Gibson SG shape. Originally bought in 1972 and played by its owner in a college band, I bought it off him in 1991 when he moved to Solihull. I have never gigged it since, and for most of the last 33 years it has been lying in its case under the bed. It is in absolutely excellent condition for its age with little evidence of being gigged in its early years. There are a few very slight dinks but no scratches. The neck and fretboard hardly look used at all. It comes with its original case (no Gibson Logo) which, again, is in really remarkable nick for its age. The EB-4L Is in full working order and the buyer can do a test run with my gear when collecting.

What an investment. Even if you haven’t got a clue about the heritage of this instrument the value can only go up. If not sold here by the end of the auction, you will not have another chance.

Any questions please get back to me as I want to make sure that it goes to a ‘good home’.

I would prefer the buyer to collect 2.5 miles south of J3 of M42, although I will deliver if local.
