Gorgeous, Hard-To-Find Flow Blue Handleless Cup & Saucer in the Immensely Popular Cashmere Pattern. Made by Ridgway & Morley, Staffordshire England - c. 1842-44

The Saucer has the Ridgway & Morley Backstamp. The Cup, though not marked, is of the same vintage (and from the same set) and has the earlier-produced, more narrow, paneled Bowl than the more flared Bowls produced during later periods (and, I believe, more difficult to find because of its shape).

This fabulous Oriental Pattern depicts two Deer frolicking in a Woodland area surrounded by a Oriental/Art Nouveau style Rim pattern.

The Cobalt Blue Glaze is wonderful - dark, rich in color with beautiful blurring - particularly the Cup (both are actually darker than depicted in the photos with the strong photos lights)! The Cup is on a 12 paneled body style while the Saucer has 14 panels.

The Cup is in very good condition with no cracks or major chips - just a few teeny pinhead nibbles - a couple of which are probably stilt marks occurring when made.   Measures 3 ¼" wide across its top rim and 2 7/8" in height.

Likewise, the Saucer has no significant damage - only a tiny bit of browning on two of the Stilt Marks on the front and a shallow, small chip with browning where one of the Stilt Marks is on the bottom rim.   Measures 5 5/8" in diameter.

Both having crazing, stilt marks and some glaze misses - all of which, of course, were either part of the manufacturing process or occurred when made.
