Charles Dickens: Our Mutual Friend--Complete in 4 Volumes 1866

This early "household edition" was published by Hurd and Houghton in 1866 and is a 1st edition as such. It features tissue-protected frontispieces from drawings by F.O.C. Darley and John Gilbert.

Good solid books with clearly incised gilt spine titles. Bumping and edgewear as shown. (Volume III has fraying to top spine edge.) The inside covers and endpapers have a blurry bluish tint, which probably a flaw in manufacturing. (I can't think of any other reason for this oddity; these  \are not library books.) Measure 7 1/8 x 4 inches each. All appear very clean inside with no signs of marking or annotation.
