VARIOUS, LISTEN HERE!, ORIG 1968 UK TRANSATLANTIC LP, JANSCH / RENBOURN / McTELL

Listen Here! A Transatlantic Sampler
(12” LP)

Transatlantic Records was a British independent record label. The company was established in 1961, primarily as an importer of American folk, blues and jazz records by many of the artists who influenced the burgeoning British folk and blues boom. Within a few years, the company had started recording British and Irish artists. The company's philosophy was intentionally eclectic.

Giltrap – In Love With A Stranger; Bert Jansch & John Renbourn – Tic Tocative;
John Renbourn – Song; The Ian Campbell Group – The Circle Game.

Side Two:
The Johnstons – Urge For Going; Bert Jansch – Harvest Your Thoughts Of Love;
The Sallyangie – Love In Ice Crystals; Bob Bunting – Blues For Dominique; Ron
Geesin – Certainly Random; The Purple Gang – Granny Takes A Trip.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:

MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.

EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.
