Here are Volumes 38 to 46, and 49 of the Richard Blade heroic adult fantasy series. These books were written under the pseudonym of Jeffrey Lord by various authors. The series began in 1969 with Volume 1, The Bronze Axe, and ended with Volume 37, Warriors of Latan in 1984. The first 37 volumes were originally written in English, but their popularity led to translations in French, German, and Russian. The French translations began in 1974, presented by Gerard de Villiers and published by Plon. New material, only available in French, was released with Volume 38 in 1983, and continued through Volume 206 in 2012. This lot of ten books are in French and continue the Richard Blade saga. Richard
Blade, a secret agent for Britain’s MI6, is accidentally propelled into another
dimension in Volume 1 when an experiment wiring him into an advanced computer
goes awry. Arriving naked, he must rely
on his wits and superbly conditioned body to survive. The computer is eventually reprogrammed, and
Richard Blade is brought back home.
Realizing the potential of bringing back wealth and advanced scientific
knowledge, the British government continues to send him to a new dimension,
chronicled in each new volume, where he must adapt to anything from primitive
to advanced societies to survive. In each
volume his physical prowess is tested both in battle and in bed.
Books
are the epitome of pulp fiction, being printed on cheap paper which has toned
with age. There is an occasional minor
tear in the margins of a page, as well as some creases in and general wear to
the covers. There is no writing in them. There are no missing pages as they were just
recently read, and they are clean with an occasional minor bit of soiling. Each volume is typically a little over 200
pages long. Books are over all in good,
readable condition. They were purchased
used and read once.
Books
come from a smoke-free, pet-free house.
They will be shipped in a sturdy box.
