BREVARIUM ROMANUM, a two volume set of books: Tomus Prior & Tomus Alter, published by Desclee & Socii, Romae et alia, with approbation decree by Cardinal Cicognani dated 1961, and including the version of the Psalms approved by Pope Pius XII, printed in Belgium.

Each volume uniform in size 6 ½ by 4 3/8” in flexible black deckled leather, gilded page block with text in alternating red ( rubrics) and black (prayer text) , end papers in gray and white with Chi Rho decorations, most commonly recited prayers in the front of each volume, and supplemental material in the back of the second volume.

Completely in Latin, this is the full text of the Divine Office before the changes initiated by the Vatican II Council. in Rome, mid 1960s

Condition of the books graded Good to Very Good. The volumes are well used, but quite gently, exterior covers show very light remains of titles on the spine faces, most used sections are well thumbed but all pages are still quite clean and unmarked throughout, a collectible two volume set of the traditional Roman Breviary.
