——Description——

Photos above always show the actual items that you will get from me, because I never use stock photos!

This is one of many auctions I have up for bids right now that include paperbacks from the Ballantine Original Adult Fantasy BAF series of books printed in the 1960s and 1970s that have the unicorn colophon at top right, so be sure to check out my other listings for more. I will be glad to combine auctions into one package to save you money on shipping, if you win more than one. (The added ship charge will be only a dollar for each auction you win after the first -- and even less if you win a bunch of them!)

Also, I package all books in cardboard for protection, not in those thin white plastic bags or padded envelopes that some sellers use.

My grading scale:
Near Mint (just about perfect)
Fine (some very minor imperfections)
Very Good (has more notable flaws)
Good (some significant flaws, but not a disaster)
Fair (really beaten up, but still intact and complete)
Poor (a complete wreck)

Here are the two books that you will get in this auction:

1) FIGURES OF EARTH by James Branch Cabell, First Printing November 1969, 95¢ cover price, cover art by Robert Pepper. Ballantine Books catalog number 345 01763 095.

CONDITION: Front cover looks so good it could be "Fine," but what makes me knock the book's overall condition down to "Very Good" is that the spine has a lot of "crinkles." The odd thing is that they don't look like the usual kind of cracked-spine damage, but more like imperfectly applied wallpaper (if that makes any sense). Also, the back cover has some impressions, nothing disastrous.

2) THE SILVER STALLION by James Branch Cabell, First Printing August 1969, 95¢ cover price. No cover artist credited on title page. Ballantine Books catalog number 345 01678 095.

CONDITION: Sadly, this book is in "Poor" condition -- but it would serve as a decent placeholder copy until you get a better one, because it is complete and intact. Too many flaws to include them all. Basically in TERRIBLE shape. Marks/stains/cuts/impressions on cover and pages, cracked and slanted spine, and the back cover looks like somebody used it as a cutting board -- it is completely scraped up, with what looks like an X-acto blade, and some of the long cuts go completely through the cover. OUCH.

You'll love them! Any questions, just ask!
