Nippon Morimura Hand Painted Landscape Scene Matte Green & Greek Key Vase
Beautiful
porcelain vase. Nicely decorated with a hand painted landscape scene of
trees, rocks, and a river framed in gold beading and raised gold
neoclassical scrollwork designs. The overall background of the vase is
painted a matte green, with black and gold gilt Greek key and panel
designs. Gold gilt handles. Marked on the bottom Hand Painted M Nippon
with a wreath. This mark was used by the Morimura Brothers in Nippon
(Japan) between 1911 and 1921.
Has some wear to the gilding,
mostly on the handles, and some crazing to the base, but otherwise good
condition with no chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 7 1/4 inches wide x 8 1/2 inches tall.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
