I have no idea what this is and have been unable so far to determine its use.  Thought to be of oriental origin.

Could it possibly be used for a game of chance of some kind?

It appears to be made partly from polished wood (the faces are a different material)

Created in the form of a cube which weighs 176g

Each side measures six centimetres or just under two and a half inches.

Highly decorative and very tactile with pictures on every face which may depict a story or traditional myth or legend.

Note that it has a very short crack in the wood joining the faces at one corner (see photos)
