Original U S Civil War Union leather ammunition case.  Nice brass insignia, leather is in OK shape, but some stitching is coming loose on one side.

It has the tin inserts.  Missing some of the leather parts: cover closure and upper back strap.  Otherwise complete.  All the brass and metal parts are complete and solid.  Nice period piece.
