Fine hand carved gothic style frame with antique Madonna & Child print by Raphael. A rare piece from the Louis Antoville gallery and frame shop at 105 West 72nd st. near Columbus ave. New York.
Louis Antoville was a Russian Jew who owned the gallery and frame shop in NYC from 1901 to his death in 1942. The shop was famous for its specialized frames and sale of etchings and mezzotints. A certificate of authenticity will be included with this work.
Condition:
In good condition. There is an old restoration seen on the upper Fleur-de-lis. Only visible from the back. Otherwise fine with minor scratches due to the age.
