You are viewing a Stunning,
Vintage 1940's (Approx) Genuine Shaded Snakeskin & Leather Hand Clutch Bag!
This is an outstanding item from 1940's Egypt! It's a large, flat, clutch bag, made out of a still glossy, tanned snakeskin in shades of brown and black! The edges of the bag are bound with plain leather, and the fold-over flap closure fastens with a small metal snap. It opens to reveal a leather lined interior, tooled with a linear design, which shows minimal signs of wear & age. There are two full-sized compartments and one full-sized flapped pocket. This is a lovely bag, brought back to England post-war. It belonged to a Polish refugee, displaced from eastern Poland during the 2nd World War, and the bag was gifted to her by her father in 1945, before they re-settled in the UK in the late 1940's. The name of the daughter appears on the underside of one of the inside pocket flaps as shown. I acquired the bag from this lady's sister's recent house clearance. The bag is in excellent condition for it's age, has clearly been cherished, hardly-used and looked after, and has years of careful wear left in it! A real eye-catcher and a very fine and rare Vintage bag!
Please read the listing in full and supersize all photos as I do not take returns, so items are bought as seen and described.
The bag measures 13 7/8" across at it's widest point, and is 9" high, and up to 2" deep. It's just the thing for this season with so many Vintage Style bags out there right now, why have a cheap High Street copy when you can have the REAL THING!!
