RFL (later Clarke Hess) 828M AC/DC V-A Source.

For sale shortly will be this fully refurbished RFL 828M AC/DC V-A Source Calibrator. The unit is supplied with a calibration certificate issued in your name and referenced to an industry standard Agilent 34401A bench multimeter that has been UKAS certified. A printed copy of the instruction manual is included.

The calibrator has been stripped down to a bare cabinet shell, cleaned and carefully rebuilt over several hours. All missing or faulty electrical and mechanical parts have been replaced with genuine American components sourced from five different suppliers, some here in the United Kingdom, others in North America and Europe. After extensive research I am now able to repair these devices. I would create an ebay listing for this in order to comply with ebay rules, should you have an 828 or 828M in need of repair and calibration.

A modification has been performed to improve the settling time and eliminate hunting on the 1mA and 10mA DC ranges. If you own a model 828 or 828M and it has this problem (which can be got around by momentarily switching to the 100mA setting and then choosing a lower range as required) then please get in touch for more details.

This portable device is ideal for use in any application that requires a precision DC or AC Voltage and Current Source, for example the calibration or performance verification of analogue and digital multimeters or other indicating devices with a resolution of up to 3.5 digits.

Pictures show the calibrator delivering a variety of DC and AC Voltages and Currents. My Fluke 177 Multimeter is, of course, not included in the sale, it is present for indication only and to give a idea of the size of the model 828M.
