For sale here is a MSI AMD Twin-Frozr R9 280X 3GB graphics card, flashed with Mac EFI BIOS, which will work plug-and-play in the original Mac Pro tower. It is, in effect, the equivalent of a Mac Edition R9 280X.
This card has a dual BIOS switch. BIOS 1 has been flashed with Mac EFI, and will display Apple EFI boot drive selection using the Alt key, and the Apple logo with bootloading progress bar on screen.
This card is suitable for both 32-bit and 64-bit EFI, and therefore will work in the Mac Pro 1,1 through to 5,1 (2006 - 2012) as a superb upgrade.
It will work with macOS 10.9 Mavericks through to macOS Monterey, as it is Metal supported. It will also boot Windows 7 and 10.
This MSI AMD Twin-Frozr R9 280X 3GB Graphics card has 1020 MHz default clock, with 1500 MHz memory.
Ports available are: 1 x Dual-link DVI; 1 x HDMI; 2 x mini-Displayports, all of which output in macOS and Windows. This card has been successfully tested simultaneously driving 4 displays one of which was 4k @ 60Hz out of both the mDP ports.

These are fantastic cards for gaming, editing or high-end 3D design work, running very quiet with dual fans which have specially shaped blades.
Be aware, this card requires additional PCIe power via 1 x 6-pin + 1 x 8-pin PCIe cables from mini-6-pin Mac Pro logic board connectors to card.
The card itself is in excellent cosmetic condition, extremely clean throughout, thoroughly stress-tested in Unigine Heaven 4 and is working perfectly.
