1901 Pan American Exposition Frying ‘Pan’
Spoon and the Prosperity & Peace Medal
Two Great Pan American Exposition Buffalo NY items!! The
Frying ‘Pan’ Spoon AND
the Prosperity and Peace Medal.
The Pan-American Silver Plate Frying Pan Spoon is embossed
in the bowl w/ “Souvenir (Charging ‘Buffalo’) 1901 Niagara Falls”. On neck is “Pan-Am 1901” and the handle has an
embossed Niagara Falls with the word ‘Niagara’ and embossed bust of
Geronimo. On the back is the embossed
Electric Tower w/ ‘Electric Tower – 391 Feet High - Buffalo’. The maker’s mark is ‘USSC’ for the U.S. Silver
Co. The ‘Pan’ Spoon measures approx. 4-1/2”
long by 1-3/8” dia. wide pan.
The Nickel-Plated Prosperity and Peace Medal is embossed on
the obverse with Raphael Beck’s Emblem of the Ladies of the Continents w/ “Pan-American
Exposition.1901.Buffalo.N.Y.U.S.A.” and on the reverse are the words, “To Unite
The Americas In Bonds Of Prosperity And Peace”.
The Overall Condition of both items, commensurate with their
age of 123 years and their ‘use’ over that time, is Very Good.
