Large 17 x 12" Pears Soap Tribute Queen Victoria, Illustrated London News

From Pears Soap By Special Appointment to the Queen, etc. circa 1900

This large folio size tribute to the Queen and Prince of Wales was sponsored by Pears Soap forThe Illustrated London News. Although a little worn (see photos) both the front and back coversare quite spectacular with bright gilt details and text. The spine is a bit bumping with fray edges as you can see. The inside content if not bound to the covers--whether by design or not, I don't know. As you can see, the title page and the ad page following has been repaired and their is some light red staining to the bottom page edges. 

34 pages. Numerous photographs buttressed by some advertising. The covers are textured and may be leather or leatherette. Probably published around 1900. Appears to be very rare. I could not find another folio from The Illustrated News or Pears Soap as grand as this.
