French Capodimonte Style Hand Painted Neoclassical Large Jewelry Casket Box

Nice late 19th or early 20th century French Capodimonte style large jewelry casket / box with hand painted relief molded Greco Roman man, putto cherubs, and goat on the top framed in gold gilt scrollwork. With Neoclassical scenes with cherubs, goat, and cherubs carrying grapes and climbing into a wine vat on each side. Has gilt panels in the corners with clusters of relief molded and hand painted grapes and other fruit. Gilt ormolu mounts. Marked on the base with a pseudo / spurious "Capodimonte" crown N mark on the base and France in blue. Probably made by either Bourdois & Bloch or Achille Bloch in Paris.

Has some wear to the gilding and some wear and tarnish to the gilt ormolu mounts. Also has an area of in manufacture glaze bubbling on the base. Otherwise good condition.


Measures approximately 7 3/4 inches long x 5 7/8 inches wide x 4 3/8 inches tall.

This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
