Up for auction this week with no reserve, I have this exquisite old Japanese vase which is a true work of art! It features stunning hand-painted details in gold and red, making it a unique piece that will surely add a touch of elegance to any collection. The vase is signed and is an antique original from the Meiji era (1868-1912). The vase measures approximately 14 in tall The rim on top is approximately 4.75 in and it's about 9.75 in wide at the widest point The base is approximately 5.75 in in diameter. The vase was made in Kaga province. I was told that this provence name was abolished circa 1872 or so which would make this piece pre 1872. The vase is an excellent condition overall and the decoration is beautiful and intact. At some point a previous owner converted this vase into a lamp and they drilled a hole through the bottom. The hole has since been plugged. This piece is in superb condition otherwise, without any chips or cracks.

The vase's multi-color design is truly eye-catching, and it is clear that it was crafted with great attention to detail. It is perfect for anyone who appreciates Asian antiques and wants to add a special touch to their collection. This vase is a true masterpiece and is sure to be a conversation starter.
