THE STANDELLS, TRY IT, ORIG 1967 US TOWER STEREO LP, GARAGE ROCK/R&B/60s PUNK
The Standells – Try It (12” LP)
The Standells are an American garage rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in the 1960s, who have been referred to as a "punk band of the 1960s", and said to have inspired such groups as the Sex Pistols and Ramones. They recorded the 1966 hit "Dirty Water", written by their producer, Ed Cobb. (Ed Cobb also wrote "Tainted Love", a Gloria Jones song which became world famous when Soft Cell did a version of it.) "Dirty Water" is the anthem of several Boston sports teams and is played following every Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins home win.

Condition:
(as Record Collector’s grading system)
Vinyl side 1:
very good
(has a noticeable mark on track four [see last photo] that causes the odd very light click on the second half of the track but certainly nothing that spoils your enjoyment of the music, it still sounds great, that apart plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Vinyl side 2:
excellent
(has a noticeable superficial mark that does not affect the audio in any way, plays great with no jumps, sticks or clicks and minimal crackle).
Cover (glossy):
good
(corner, edge and spine wear, sellotape repairs top right and bottom right, rubbing front and back, aging / discolouring worst around the edges, punch hole bottom left).
I have tried to give my honest opinion as to the condition. I will give a
complete refund to the buyer if they are not happy on return of the record.
Any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

RECORD COLLECTOR GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: I very rarely use the mint grade. Only records that are still sealed or
records that even under the strongest of lights are completely unmarked. Also
covers that are unmarked/uncreased in any way and still look brand new.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is no
lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear
and/or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no
major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the
occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items,
without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably
deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and
contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration,
etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and
displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents
will be torn, stained and/or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise,
etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a
collection-filler.
