Limoges Hand Painted Signed Little Girl Portrait Cobalt & Gold 8 5/8 Plate C1894
Pretty
scalloped edge porcelain plate. Decorated with a hand painted portrait
of a little blonde girl in a white and green dress with a big straw hat
over a white, pink, and purple background. With a border of cobalt blue
with gold gilt scallopes along the edge. Marked on the reverse J. P. L
over France. This mark was used by Jean Pouyat in Limoges France between
1891 and 1932. Also signed on the reverse HMW 94 for 1894.
Has
wear to the gilding and a 1 1/2 inch hairline crack on the back edge,
and a small 1/4 inch tight crack on the front extending off the inner
rim. No additional chips or cracks.
Measures approximately 8 5/8 inches wide.
This is an antique and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the piece.
