You're bidding on a cool vintage manual portable typewriter - the L.C. Smith & Corona "Model 3" - Serial number 669527 dates the machine to 1934 year of manufacture. An innovative design design with the top half folding down for light weight and exceptional portability, this popular machine was first produced in 1912 and remained in production until the beginning of WWII.

Cool Art Deco period styling with crinkle panels inset into the front and sides within black gloss finish and white porcelain keys. Note some light pitting in spots on the brightwork, some scuff to the paint on the left-front edge and a bit of scuff/soil on the back side, but overall the machine retains decent presentation and appeal.

NOTE one primary mechanical issue - the line spacing mechanism is not working properly - it's loose/wobbly and the carriage return handle does not grab it - something appears to need to be tightened/secured. Probably also needs a new platen, as it doesn't grab the paper and pull it through very well. SOLD AS IS AS FOUND.

Type bars all work, though, drawband is intact and carriage slides, bell rings, etc - good example for restoration/conservation, or, looks great as a decorative piece. Note, case is present, but note the front-bottom fold-up panel is gone.

Please review photos carefully to make your own determination of condition and appeal, and don't hesitate to ask any questions prior to bidding - thanks for looking!
