Lucas THX Sound System Poster

Unusual & very scarce George Lucas Star Wars related poster (24"x 36") promoting the LucasFilm THX sound system.

This state-of-the-art sound system was developed especially to accompany the launch of "Return of the Jedi" (1983) - see poster attached for reference. Although primarily known for his work on the Star Wars franchise , George Lucas developed wider business interests including both video gaming & audio technologies. This poster is an example of these endeavours. The poster has a deliberate "retro" film director design & the choice of the "THX" moniker is a thinly disguised homage to George Lucas's early foray into scifi with his film "THX 1138" (1971) which pre-dated Star wars by six years. The "LucasArts Entertainment Company" text on the bottom rim dates this particular poster to the early 1990's.
