A wax seal made of brass and lignum vitae wood.
Brass tip is screwed onto a steel pin. 
Seal in a shape of meat mallet tip.
Baluster-form wooden handle in light and dark-brown colors
with beautiful patina. Useful as a pipe tamper as well.

No maker/manufacturer and country of origin marks.

Probably made in Europe, late 19th. Century or early 1900's.
