Ein Nadelhalter wird zum Einspannen der Nadel benutzt während der Wundnahtlegung. Durch den Nadelhalter wird die Nadel fixiert und kann somit nicht verrutschen. Durch die filigrane Form kann die Nadel optimal geführt werden und es besteht eine geringe Verletzungsgefahr während der Operation für Patient und Arzt. Die meisten Nadelhalter sind für eine präzise Führung der chirurgischen Nadeln geeignet. Weitere Modelle sind mit oder ohne Arretierung versehen bzw. ermöglichen die verschiedenen Griffformen unterschiedliche Greifalternativen.
