Sea shell mosaic painting, one of Taiwan's unique handicraft, is skillfully composed of hundreds of sterilized sea shell and sea plant of different sizes and varieties.   Sea Shell Arts Gallery   Taiwan, Republic of China  (This dates this item somewhere between 1912-1949)
Found in purchased estate items so I do NOT know much about this item.
Quadriptych (4 hinged wooden panels that can be closed like a book).   It is sturdy lovely artwork that can be displayed standing on a table or shelf or hung on a wall.  NO hangers or hooks are attached or included.
Each panel measures approximately 13 inches tall x 5 1/2 inches wide.   Total width of all for panels measures approximately 22 inches wide. The 4 panels are dark stained wood frames.  The frame panels are paper backed.  There is water staining on the description panel as mentioned above.
Each beautiful panel depicts landscape scenery that may include a boat, fisherman, trees or houses.  I have no idea what the lettering or signatures mean in each panel.  Each silk piece is frame matted with olive green silk-like fabric or ribbon.
I have tried to take pictures from different angles to avoid shadows and lights.  PLEASE NOTE:   The last 4 pictures are the panels left to right.   THE THIRD PANEL frame has a  bit of stain scratching in the upper left corner.  This is under the Plexiglass panel, so this was not caused by damage after its creation.

PLEASE SEE ALL PICTURES FOR MORE DETAILS AND ACTUAL CONDITION.
PLEASE ASK IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.
 Thank you!
