Offered here is a stunning Original Oil Painting .

It is a Horseracing scene by Tom Clark and dates to the late 1970s or early 1980s .

We believe the scene is of the Holderness Point to Point at Dalton Park in South Dalton in East Yorkshire.

Tom painted scenes in and around the Yorkshire Wolds around this time . It may also be a scene of the Kiplingcotes Derby , but I am not familiar with either setting so can’t be certain , but the equestrian and horse racing enthusiasts from East Yorkshire will know .

It features 9 Horses and their riders and the jockeys are in full silks.

The crowd are stood watching the race by their vehicles , they are very much of the period , there is a Ford Cortina an Austin and an early Range Rover , plus other vehicles .

Toms paintings are of very good quality and this oil is on a canvas

It is not Signed but we know it is by Tom as we are offering others by him that are signed , and some are dated , they are all from the same period and all feature horses but many are agricultural featuring early farming scenes .

He paints very peaceful and charming rural scenes .He is a very competent artist, using subtle shades of colour and use of light in his paintings which creates an impressionist style .

The entire piece measures 30 inches x 16 inches .

This would make a fabulous present for an equestrian lover , or for anyone with connections to Horse racing.

It is extremely atmospheric .

The picture is on canvas . It is in nice condition with light wear .

Good Luck.

Please take a look at the other works we are offering by this artist.

If anyone can confirm the location it would be appreciated. Please bear in mind this was painted approximately 45 years ago so the trees in the background will be far more mature than they are in the painting.
