Antique Advertising Sign Yorkshire Insurance Company Limited estd 1824 .

This is a fabulous piece , on initial inspection it looks like wood , but is actually made from plaster on canvas that has been painted . The quality is superb .

It is in relief and measures 15 x 12 inches .

It has a church design and the word Yorkshire 1824 in the centre.

The wording is in scroll decoration and there are 3 Yorkshire roses .

This is a wall hanging and is ready to hang on your wall.

There is an original makers label on the reverse , this reads “ This is a Charleston Russell Product , Carrus works , 37 Canning Street , tel Birkenhead 1846 .

There is sgraffito marks in the back which appear to read TUES No EK 142 .

This is a Rare and unusual piece .

The red and gold central section of this plaque is the fire mark of the Yorkshire Insurance Company which was founded in 1824.
The ‘church’ is the west front of York Minster (cathedral) which the company also adopted as its symbol and appeared on its policies and all of its other documents, advertising and signs.
