Offered here is a Signed Phillipe H Mourey Gilt Metal Urn or Vase shaped Lamp .
This incorporates Sevres Style Porcelain into the Gilt Metal design .
P.H. Mourey was an important Paris clock maker and made clocks for Japy Freres & Co. in France in the nineteenth century . He lived from 1840 to 1910.
It is decorated with a cherub or putti and it is signed on the base . The piece stands 21.5 inches or 55 Centimetres tall .
This is offered with a reasonable Buy it Now as it does require restoration.
The feet are very ornate and are cast with a threaded fixing , there are 4 feet but the back 2 are missing.
There is a matching Sevres style panel set in the base . This can be positioned so looks intact externally ( but internally the edges have loss ) , it looks fine when stood ordinarily.
The cherub is missing an arm.
The bottom of the urn at the thin section is cracked , it is intact currently but could easily become separated in the post as it is delicate, so please accept this may happen.
It requires rewiring.
This is a fabulous piece for the Country House look .
The piece has general wear with the faults as described ,and the different sections need tightening up, but this will be an extremely expensive piece when restored .
It is an important piece and it is rare to find a Lamp by this maker . A great little project.
Good Luck .
