This is a first edition in average condition.  It was published by J W Arrowsmith.  There is no publication date inside.

I presume this is the '3rd state' of the first edition.

The 'f' has not been crossed on the spine and there are 6 titles listed behind the title page.

Book - Average - rubbing/bumping/wear to the corners, edges and covers, a lean, marking, fading, discolouration, some tearing and loss to the spine, marking, staining, fading and discolouration to the covers, opens easily to several pages (binding just showing through in a few places), some crinkling to a few pages, some creasing to several page corners, bumping to many page corners, marking and foxing/discolouration to the page edges and several pages, some darkening to the top page edges, soft tanning to the pages and there is a previous owner's name inside.
