Here is a wonderful copy of Philip Roth’s fourth published book Portnoy’s Complaint. This is a first edition second printing as shown on the copyright page published by Random House in 1969. This copy is truly nice. The binding is square, tight, and the text is immaculate throughout. The blue cloth boards are extremely clean with just a bit of discoloration at the top edges. The bottom edges are beautiful. The gold gilt lettering on the cloth spine and the author’s initials on the front board are pristine in condition as shown. The original red topstain is still very evident on the upper page block. And those nice deckled edges!!! The dust jacket is complete and has the original price present on the front flap as shown. ( $6.95 ). There is a crease down the front panel also as shown in the pics provided. There is light fading to the spine as is often the case with this title and you can see it in the last image of this listing. The rear panel has a small closed tear at the upper left and the rest of the jacket is very nice indeed. This copy will make a wonderful addition to any collection or library. Please see all pics and ask any questions you may have and as always I never list ex library or book club editions so buy with confidence. And please check out my 100% positive seller feedback!!! Thanks for looking.
