Vintage '60s Lu Celia Wise "Oil Original" Enameled Brass Ruler Desk of Amoco CEO

Lu Celica Wise (1913-2006) was a native of Oklahoma of Indian descent and the first woman hired as a draftsman for Sinclair Oil in Tulsa in the the engineering and geological department. She worked there from the 1940s through 1959. After she left Sinclair Oil, she created her own business, Oil Originals by Lu Celia. This ruler was one of her creations. She sold her desk items and art related to the oil industry at the Dallas Market.  She also wrote Oklahoma’s official bicentennial book.

Francis Randolph Yost Sr. (1911-1994) was a former president and chief executive officer of Amoco. A native of Beaumont, Texas, Yost entered the oil business after attending college at the University of Texas-Austin.
