Edward VII Queen Alexandra Mayor BRIGHTON Coronation Mug 1902 Rare with Colonies.

This was commissioned by John Stafford ( the Mayor of Brighton ) , to commemorate the Coronation of King Escward Vll and Queen Alexandra in 1902 . These were presented to children attending the Coronation event in Preston Park .

On the side it reads County Borough of Brighton , Stafford , Mayor , withthe Coat of Arms .

The reverse has Boadicea , a Lion and the colonies are detailed in each quartile of a St George Cross on a Shield , these read India , Africa , Canada and Australia .

The base is stamped WH Schofield , 60 East Street , Brighton .

This is blue and white transfer printed ware .

A nice rare piece of Royal memorabilia .

It is in excellent condition with no chips , cracks or restoration , there is light wear to the gilded gold band and some of the Transfer . There is crazing to the glaze .
