Signed first edition, first printing hardcover copy of Wouldn’t Take Nothing For My Journey Now by Maya Angelou (Random House, 1993). True first edition, with what was the “full” number line at this point in Random House’s publishing history: a first printing had the number line “2-9” with the “first edition” statement, the second printing kept the number line and removed the “first edition”. From then on, the printer’s key operated as normal, removing a digit with each subsequent printing.

A seminal work of non fiction by the acclaimed author of I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings and many others. Here, Angelou speaks on many topics including spirituality, race, philosophy, and gender. Jacket is protected in new archival sleeve but with some mild rubbing/scuffing to faces and slight shelf wear around the edges. Boards are straight and clean but with corners mildly bumped. Binding is firm and spine is straight. All pages are clean and unmarked. See photos.
